Our Nation's Capitol, have you been?

I have been several times now. I've hardly visited any of the museums or sights though. I've been to the zoo at least 3 times. We did the aquarium this last time, and it was actually quite disappointing. It's also the only attraction that has an admission fee. I also got to see the Washington Monument closer up. I wanted to go to the Natural History museum, but Ella was getting cranky and she only cared about riding the Metro (that's all she ever cares about).

Oh and we always stay in Herndon, VA because it's right near the data center, well it's also right next to Chantilly, VA. Chantilly is where the convention is in June. It's probably a good 3.5-4 hour drive from Lynchburg. It's not that bad at all, especially if we're traveling in a group. :-)

I have only been to D.C. once and that was in 8th Grade.....
I'm sure alot has changed and since it was a school Trip, we missed alot. We toured thw White House, the Big Cemetary, Vietnam Memorial and a couple of the museums. It was cool and we are hoping to take the girls this summer.

I've been to DC a couple of times. Once was an 8th grade school trip and then once when I was a senior in high school. The first trip we did all the museums, etc. My favorite was definitely the Natural History museum! I can't wait to take Samantha when she's a little older. The second trip I was there for the FBLA national competition so I didn't get to see much of the sites BUT it was over 4th of July and we got to watch fireworks at the Washington Monument which was way cool.

The second scrapbook I did was that 8th grade DC trip. My dad actually came with us on that trip as a chaperone and he tooks tons of pictures so I made the scrapbook and gave it to him as a gift. I'll have to "borrow" it sometime to show you all. :)

That would be so cool to see your DC scrapbook. Now I'm sorry we didn't head over to the National History Museum. Next time for sure.

6th grade trip. Really cool. My mom went with us as a chaperone.

I want to say I have been to the Zoo too, maybe when my sister's pen pal from Germany came to visit in 10th grade.

Finally, my husband and I went on the train from Lynchburg. that was really cool. We ate on the train, had lunch at Planet Hollywood. Saw a couple museum, the usual stuff, etc.

We are planning to take Bradley there this summer on the train. He will love it. We may go to the Zoo or the air and space museum. I would like to go sometime to see the National cathedral.

Yeah I'm not a huge church goer but wanted to attend a mass at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. It's the largest Catholic church in the states. Plus I've listened to their choir sing on their website, and really wanna hear them in person. I love choirs! I've yet to go though, maybe next time.
